Estimates, not decisions
The calculator and guides are general information. They follow each program’s published rules with what you type, but only the agency that runs a program decides whether you qualify and what you get, and your taxes depend on your whole return. Nothing on the site is legal, tax or financial advice, and nothing here is an application or a promise of benefits. Before you act on an answer, for example by turning down a raise or changing your hours, check with the program’s office or a qualified adviser. We work to keep every answer correct, but we can’t promise that the site is free of mistakes, and we are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of this site.
Independent
This is not a government website, and it is not run by, endorsed by or connected with any federal, state or local agency. We sell no product or service, and no bank, insurer, lender or adviser pays us or chooses what we publish.
Our content
The site’s own text, tools, pictures and design belong to PVV Media Technologies. You’re welcome to quote a short passage with a link to the page. Please don’t copy the site’s pages or tools in bulk; its pictures and tables may be used as the next section says. The figures themselves are the public rules and statistics of the agencies that run the programs.
Using our pictures and tables
You may use the pictures we draw for the calculator and guides, and the site’s tables of figures with their CSV file, free of charge: on your own website, in a document or in print. Please use a picture unchanged. You may use a table whole or in part, with its figures as we publish them. Either way, credit Benefits Calculator with a link to the page the picture or table comes from. This does not cover our logo; everything else on the site follows the rule above.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it and are not liable for any loss arising from its use.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States.
